
Clockwork began in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, as a hands-on home maintenance and repair service. We helped owners of larger and older homes stay on top of the constant stream of fixes and follow-ups that come with a prestige property. But as we spent more time in these homes, we saw a deeper pattern. Modern homes come with better systems, advanced technologies, high-end appliances and finishes – but also a constant sense that something important might be slipping through the cracks.
Homeowners were overwhelmed by the complexity of running a modern home: the scheduling and coordination, the constant maintenance and seasonal fixes, and the project bids with multiple vendors. Between demanding careers, packed family schedules, and the everyday pace of life, managing a home had quietly turned into a second job. Many homeowners didn’t just need a handyman or a property manager. They needed someone they could trust to oversee everything.
We built Clockwork to be that trusted partner.
Today, Clockwork provides fractional home management – a manager, housekeeper and handyman in one. We conduct regular inspections, manage cleaning and maintenance plans, coordinate and brief your contractors, establish new vendor relationships when needed, and follow work through to completion with a focus on quality. We can even handle budgeting and billing so you’re not chasing invoices or sorting out who needs to be paid.
Importantly, we’re compensated for our time — not as a percentage of vendor contracts. Spending more money doesn’t make us more money. That means we advocate solely for you and, since we know what things should cost, we help you get the best value from every contractor and service relationship attached to your home.

At the same time, we roll up our sleeves and take care of the practical, everyday handyman work that keeps a home running smoothly — fixing leaks, patching walls, maintaining appliances, replacing bulbs and filters, and working through your personal “honey-do” list with tasks like furniture assembly, packing, organization, and rotating seasonal items into storage. We also support the bigger life moments around your home such as seasonal relocation, major repairs, renovations and preparation for events.
